THERE IS NONE OTHER

THERE IS NONE OTHER

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Peter was speaking to some accusers about the fact that a lame man had been healed at the Gate Beautiful yesterday. We will always have people who find fault with what is done, or the manner in which it is done. This incident was no exception.

Acts 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

Peter's answer was, essentially, the same as he had given to the crowd yesterday. They had seen the lame man running around shouting and leaping, and wanted to know what it was all about.

Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

I wonder sometimes, if we really realize what we have at our disposal in the use of the Name of Jesus.

The Name has proven sufficient many times in overcoming the powers of evil, in the lives and bodies of individuals.

Yet, it does seem to have some built-in limitations, lest we undertake to use it indiscriminately, at our own will.

It would seem that Peter and John had "heard" the Word (Rhema) of the Lord when they spoke to the lame man and commanded him to be healed.

They would not take any credit for the miracle, but pointed everyone to the Name of Jesus as the source of the authority to command the man to be healed.

The writer of the Hebrew letter touches the same subject when he told the persecuted Hebrew Christians to not turn back, not to give up the assembling themselves together, to not cast away their confidence in Jesus.

He writes: Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,. There is NO OTHER ROUTE to Salvation than that afforded by the NAME and BLOOD of JESUS.

If we "cast away our confidence" in Him, and the Name of Jesus, (Heb 10:35) we lose everything. There just is NO OTHER WAY to come to God. None.

Fight the good fight of Faith. Hold on to your confidence in the integrity of God. He will not fail you.
