MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH

Several years ago I worked alongside a man who often used the expression, "Meanwhile, back at the ranch." His idea was to ensure that there was something going on somewhere else besides what we were seeing at the time. He had picked it up in a TV series of the time.

I have used the expression many times myself when dealing with the most popular subject of our times-- The rise and rule of antichrist.

Very few people can tell me, with any degree of certainty, just what is going to take place, nor when it is going to happen. Most eyes are on the Middle East, and the year 2000, and maybe justifiably so. I can not say, one way or the other.

But I ran across a scripture several years ago which settled my fears and tensions down immensely.

Back as far as 1948, we were hearing rumblings of "Big Brother", and what all he would do to us-- confiscation of bank accounts, real estate, etc. etc.. The stories have gotten worse as the years rolled along, and we must admit that now some things seem to be a real threat. We can not deny that fact.

But while all these things are being developed, and the trap seems about ready to spring, let me tell you what I found in the scripture which helped me.

First-- the Bible allows for four WORLD ORDERS. They were (WERE) Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome. Out of Rome was to come an EXTENSION known as the LITTLE HORN (Roman Catholic Church).

If there is to be another NEW WORLD ORDER (New age, or whatever else there might be in the wings), God's Word can be proven untrue. But you and I know it is NOT UNTRUE.

Here is where I interject my "Meanwhile, back at the ranch" expression. What has GOD been doing all this time?

Listen to this: Micah 4:11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

Our God has a trick or two "up his sleeve", as the saying goes. At the same time time the enemies of the Church (Zion) attempt (ATTEMPT) to spring the trap on her, the LORD will unveil HIS PLAN for both them and the Church. It will be interesting to watch and take part in. It will be staged on earth (terra firma).

The Principal participants will be: In one corner, the governments (social orders), financial magnates (economic orders), military groups, and religious power. (The "old girl" herself will show her true colors)

In the other corner: Saints of God who have met God's requirements for their lives, (Overcomers) empowered with the authority of the Spirit. This will have been an Act of God, at a spcific, pre-determined time in His plan. (Day of Atonement)

As men express it, "There will be hair, teeth, and eyeballs all over the place." Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Daniel 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
