TEACH US TO PRAY
The disciples of Jesus asked Him one day to "Teach us to
Pray". (luke 11:1) They didn't ask to be taught how to perform miracles.
Neither did they want to know how to cast out devils, or any other
miraculous works. Not that those are not part of living for Jesus.
They come about as one result of having learned how to really
PRAY. This is VERY IMPORTANT.
Jesus taught His disciples, (Lk 18:1) -- [to this end], that
men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
In essence, He said, "If you do not PRAY, you WILL
FAINT."
Matthew, Mark and Luke all record Jesus as having
warned His disciples to PRAY, lest they ENTER INTO TEMP-
TATION. Was He offering them ALTERNATIVES--? IF YOU
DO NOT PRAY, YOU WILL ENTER INTO TEMPTATION.
PRAYER seems to be the FUEL that stokes our Spiritual
Life.
As important as prayer is, it seems so sadly neglected most
of the time.
Do you feel "out of breath" Spiritually? Call on God in a
series of prayer times.
Do you feel like "giving up" your Christian Walk? Call
God's "9-1-1". Go into "Emergency Mode." God has a remedy!
PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew
[their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
