ISAIAH 56

ISAIAH 56

1. TROUBLE IN PARADISE.
2. SPIRITUALITY IS NOT AUTOMATIC.
3. TRUTH ON THE GROUND.
4. THE “LITTLE HORN” EMERGES.
5. THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY INTRODUCED.

Just as there was a mixed multitude accompanied Israel out of Egypt, so there were folks who embraced Christianity after Pentecost who were not exactly what they appeared to be on the surface. These people will ALWAYS present a problem in the group, for their lives have not really been changed.

After the initial euphoria of Salvation started to wane, different levels of society began to develop within the Church. . We are still plagued with it today.

If we do not MAINTAIN the Fire of God in our souls, the instincts of our natures begin to emerge. SPIRITUALITY IS NOT AUTOMATIC, but must be fed and nourished, or we revert to our former ways of life.

Ø Lev 6:12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
Ø LEV 6:13 THE FIRE SHALL EVER BE BURNING UPON THE ALTAR; IT SHALL NEVER GO OUT.

Ø Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye JUDGMENT (God’s evaluations), and do JUSTICE (God’s ways): for my salvation (1 Peter 1:5) is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

Ø 1Pe 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME.

There are rewards to be given for a job well done, if we do maintain the Fire of God in our souls. THERE IS A PREPARATION NEEDED ON THE PART OF THOSE WHO WISH TO BE ADMITTED TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, AND KEEPETH HIS HAND FROM DOING ANY EVIL.

Ø Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shalt honor him, NOT DOING THINE OWN WAYS, NOR FINDING THINE OWN PLEASURE, NOR SPEAKING THINE OWN WORDS:
Ø Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

THE “SABBATH” WAS AN ICON OF THE JEWISH LAW that was Divinely set aside at Calvary by the same God that had Divinely instituted it at the Red Sea. The term is used to denote a person who conscientiously serves God in the Spirit.

There are no ethnic or physical requirements or restrictions in the Church of Jesus Christ.

There is, however, a PROMISE of future REST (lit. KEEPING OF SABBATH) promised to faithful followers of the SPIRIT OF GOD.

Ø Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore A REST (Sabbatismos—KEEPING OF SABBATH) to the people of God.

Paul used two words in the Greek, and they have different meanings in the Greek, but they are both translated “rest” in the English. Sabbatismos is used only once, but Katapausis is used several times in the letter to Hebrews.

Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

Ø Act 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Ø Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Ø Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs (those who have stripped themselves of the desire for personal gain and gratification in the work of the Lord) that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. (These are the Overcomers.)
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Ø Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, (the Nature of God) and the word (news) of the LORD from Jerusalem

Ø Luk 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to MY HOLY MOUNTAIN, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.

Ø Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; (which includes the lost tribes of Northern Israel) and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts..

Ø Hos 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Ø Psa 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Ø Psa 69:31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hooves.

Isa 56:8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

ISA 56:9 ALL YE BEASTS OF THE FIELD, (INSINCERE CHRISTIANS) COME TO DEVOUR, YEA, ALL YE BEASTS IN THE FOREST.

Soon, Oh so soon, after the Gospel was given to the Gentiles, men who could not properly understand the intent of God began to replace Grace and Faith with philosophy and human understanding.

Ø Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Ø Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Ø Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Ø Act 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Eventually the Church became riddled with strife and debate, and the Power of God was lost. Form and ceremony was all that remained.

Ø Rom 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Ø 1Co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Ø Jam 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

Ø Jam 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Isa 56:10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
Isa 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, AND THEY ARE SHEPHERDS THAT CANNOT UNDERSTAND: THEY ALL LOOK TO THEIR OWN WAY, EVERY ONE FOR HIS GAIN, FROM HIS QUARTER.

History records that shortly after the persecution of the Church ceased, the carnal nature of the leaders began to come to the front. The Church that had been quite united under the pressure of persecution, now became extremely depressed under the quarreling and fighting among the leadership. Men in leadership began jockeying for positions.

Doctrines not espoused by the Bible began to surface. Many of the spurious teachings originated from the MINDS of learned Greek philosophers. Others were borrowed from teachings and practices of nations that had been “Evangelized” by military force.
The “Devil’s Millennium” “1200 Yrs” was beginning. The “Dark Ages” that would dim the Truth and cast it to the ground was in its early stages. (300-400 AD.)

Ø Dan 8:9 And out of one of them (PAGAN ROME) came forth a LITTLE HORN , (the “Church Universal”) which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Ø Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars (true leaders) to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Ø Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him (the Church Universal) the daily sacrifice (SECULAR GOVERNMENT)was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Ø Dan 8:12 And a host was given him against the daily sacrifice (SECULAR GOVERNMENT) by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth (the simple Gospel) to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
Ø Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

The “Church” eventually became more powerful than the Imperial government of Rome, and the “tail wagged the dog” until the Germans overpowered secular Rome in 476 AD..

The Roman Church (the little horn) continued on, and became even more powerful than it had been before. It also became more corrupt as the centuries rolled by.

Isa 56:12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

I have a book “When Jesus Became God”, written by a man of Jewish ancestry, which vividly describes the terrible struggles that beset the Church in the 75 years following the Council of Nicea in AD.325.

Nicea is the place and time of the introduction of the doctrine of the Trinity of God. It sparked a fierce battle between the followers of Arius and the followers of Athanasius.

Trinitarians and Oneness Priests and laymen “battled it out” in excommunications and reinstatements, street rioting, Church burning, miniature wars, and murdering of Priests. The “Trinitarians” eventually won because the Persians came and attacked the “Oneness” camp (Arians) and overpowered them.

During the years of struggle, terrible moral decay set in, mainly in the camp of the Trinitarian Catholics. Lying, cheating, homosexuality and sexual abuse became rampant, and somewhat acceptable, in the Priesthood.

Ø 2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings (lit. fruitless discussions): for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Ø Heb 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Ø 2Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

It seems to have been the beginning of the denominational system in the Church.
