WASHED

WASHED
A few years ago, I was called upon to conduct the funeral service of a man whom I had known for many years, but had not manifested much of a love for Jesus.
There were many relatives, and in gathering with them prior to the service, I was shown a quilt which had been made during the great depression. No one had a job, so they passed the winter days in a constructive project. Sometimes two or more families shared a house in order to live. Times were tough.
Several family members and "in-laws" had each made a block for the quilt. This man had "written" on his block with stitching: Revelation 1:5-- Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
Revival fires had burned in the area at that time also, and this man had loved Jesus fervently then, even though his experience had grown cold later.
The Scripture was my "cue" for the service, and I was able to point out to the mixed group how that Jesus had initiated any relationship which had been, or was presently, or would ever be. His Love prompted Him to seek and draw us to Himself. It was His Blood that was used as an antidote for our sins. He did the washing.
I was also able to point out to the unsaved ones that Jesus was looking for them as much as He had been looking for their dad, grandfather, uncle, etc., and He would wash them with His blood also.
--to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
The message is the same to any one reading this. Jesus loves you, and is wanting your full surrender to Him. He will not scold you. He will not berate you.
Don't let past failures scare you away. He already knows all about them. He knows it ALL--even that which you have successfully hidden from the eyes of other men and women. Nothing is hidden from Him.
Yet, His love is extended to you right now, if you will surrender your life to Him.
He will begin to guide you back from failure and misery into a close relationship with Himself again.
Call on the name of JESUS. He is waiting for the call. He WANTS to help you. HE UPBRAIDETH NOT!
