THE GRACE OF GOD

THE GRACE OF GOD WAS UPON HIM

A while back I was reading in the second chapter of Luke, and came upon the 40th verse where it says , “And the Grace of God was upon Him.”

I had read it many times, but it sort of “grabbed” me this last time, partly, I suppose, because I had been thinking about what the Grace of God can do in the life of a person who does not “frustrate” it in their life. See Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate (reject, disannull) the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Most of us are aware of the teaching that the Grace of God is the “unmerited favor” He has shown toward humanity. I have loved that expression for many years. It is true.

But Pearl, my wife, told me several years ago that the Grace of God is also “Divine Enablement”.

It becomes an “Inspiration” to do what you would not normally do.

It becomes “Strength” to do what would otherwise be impossible for you to do.

It becomes “Know How” to accomplish the impossible tasks that we sometimes face in life.

It becomes the “Ability” to “Be more than what we are.”

I was immediately reminded of a scripture in Luk 3:2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God (the Rhema) came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

That Rhema (Command) became the signal for John to make his appearance on the scene in Jordan, preaching “the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”

Saul of Tarsus had an experience with God on the Damascus Road that changed his life forever. He was “not disobedient unto the heavenly vision.” Acts 26:19

1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

We all know what he did.
